What verification does, and what it does not
A marketplace is only worth using if people trust it. Here is the honest description of the verification pipeline, the privacy model, and the limits of what any platform like this can promise.
The pipeline
From registration to a verified listing
Five stages, and a tutor is invisible to parents until stage four.
- 01
Registration
A tutor submits full name, contact details, city and locality, qualification, institution, teaching experience, classes, boards, subjects, tuition modes, availability and expected fees. A student is never created without a parent or guardian account.
- 02
Pending review
While verification is required, a new tutor profile stays hidden from parent search. This prevents unvetted profiles from appearing while the queue is processed.
- 03
Admin verification
An operations reviewer checks the submitted identity and qualification details and either verifies or rejects the profile, with a reason. Rejected tutors can correct their details and resubmit.
- 04
Live in search
A verified profile appears in tutor search with a visible verified badge, and its match score can be calculated against incoming requirements. Every admin decision is written to the audit trail.
- 05
Ongoing monitoring
Reported profiles can be hidden from search, and accounts can be suspended or blocked. Reports filed from an unlocked contact carry that unlock context, which makes review faster and fairer.
Protections
How contact details stay private
The privacy model is enforced in code, not left to convention.
Contact details never enter public listings
Search pages, cards and detail pages contain no phone number, email or street address. Public projections are built by a dedicated function that has no contact fields at all, so a leak would be a type error rather than a silent bug.
Unlocks are one-to-one and paid
One credit reveals one contact. Unlocking the same contact twice is blocked, and unlocking your own listing is blocked. That removes the economics of bulk scraping.
You choose what to reveal
A locality is visible so tutors know whether travelling is worthwhile, but the exact address is not. Parents see a neighbourhood, not a doorstep.
Visibility is controllable
Profiles can be hidden from search without deleting the account, so you can pause being contacted while keeping your history intact.
Every sensitive action is logged
Verification decisions, visibility changes, credit adjustments, pack pricing and moderation actions are recorded with the actor and timestamp.
Reporting reaches a human
Reports are not automated filters. They land in the admin console as a queue item with the listing and unlock attached.
Honesty
What we explicitly do not claim
Overclaiming in a trust section defeats the purpose of having one.
A verified badge is not a guarantee
It means submitted identity and qualification documents were reviewed. It does not mean the tutor is the best choice for your child.
Not claimed by TutorKhoji
None of the following is true, and none of it should ever be implied by the product.
- We have not run a background check on any tutor
- We do not guarantee any tutor's teaching quality
- We do not verify that a reported session happened
- We are not a school, agency or employer of tutors
- We have not published verified success rates, because none exist yet
Reporting
When something goes wrong
Report from the contact
The fastest route. The report attaches the listing and the unlock record, so the moderator has full context.
Admin investigates
A reviewer looks at the listing, the report history and any related unlocks before deciding.
Action is recorded
Hide, suspend or block — with the reason, the actor and the timestamp written to the audit trail.
